PRODUCT (if applicable)
BYPASS MODULE (if applicable)
SYMPTOMS
Have a used vehicle with what looks to be a Directed system installed. There is no model number on the module and need to ID the unit in order to obtain an installation/owners manual
CAUSE
There have been some older Directed units that did not have model numbers on them. Additionally, there are some other manufacturer's systems that look very much like Directed units
RESOLUTION
In the absence of a model number you can determine the model by accessing the FCC ID number. It will, in most cases be engraved on the unit itself. For quite some time Directed units have had FCC ID numbers that start with "EZSDEI". If the FCC ID number does not start with this it's a good bet it isn't a Directed piece.
Once the FCC ID number has been acquired you can do a search on the FCC's website to determine what you have.

Keep in mind that install guides for certain protected products such as Viper, Clifford and Automate are only available to Authorized Dealers
IMPORTANT NOTE
This article requires a basic understanding of the installed system. Please contact your local Authorized Directed Dealer or Retailer if you require additional assistance.
